Our chat-powered Conversational Configurator has already redefined how users engage with the configurator we built for L'Atelier Paris, a leading maker of high-end kitchen ranges. Users can opt to be guided through the entire experience by the virtual design assistant, who answers any questions they might have about the product, and recommends configuration options based on their requirements. This intuitive interface is a step towards democratizing design, making it accessible to everyone regardless of their background and technical expertise.
Chatting with the virtual assistant can be time-consuming, however, especially if you type slowly. This is particularly true on mobile, where typing is more difficult than on a full-sized keyboard. On top of that, half the screen is occupied by the virtual keyboard, reducing the space available to view the 3D model and the rest of the user interface.
To address these issues, we have implemented a voice-activated version of our ground-breaking Conversational Configurator. I recorded a video demonstration of this technology, showing an example of how the full process of configuration could work on a mobile device, from landing on the configurator, being guided by the chatbot, to placing an order. All that by only communicating with the application through voice, using natural language.
